Built in 1792, this quintessential inn serves as a comfortable home-away-from-home, repeatedly satisfying tourists, business travelers, students, people visiting family or friends, and other visitors. The delicious multi-course breakfast, warm hospitality, and various local attractions inspire guests to return year after year.
This charming inn with a Victorian flair is situated in the quaint and quiet village of West Swanzey, five miles from downtown Keene and a stone's throw from the historic Thompson Covered Bridge. There are five beautifully decorated guest rooms, each with private bath, and each named for one of the nearby covered bridges for which the inn is named. More about the covered bridges…
Our guests love our bountiful, scrumptious, breakfasts typically served in the formal dining room on bone china with sterling silver and linen tablecloth and napkins. Or on a warm summer morning, the screened-in porch makes a lovely spot for eating. Breakfast fare is abundant, with plenty of fresh fruit, and a variety of dishes from eggs to homemade bread and scones. We use fresh herbs and many locally produced ingredients and products. We encourage our guests to inform us of any dietary restrictions and requests in advance so we can be prepared for them.
The décor of this building is lovely with uniquely decorated rooms, tin ceiling, and many antiques. One of the bathrooms has a tin tub which is reputed to be the oldest tin tub in Swanzey. More about our history...
Nestled in the beautiful Monadnock region, the inn is near outdoor activities, restaurants, arts/cultural events, auction houses, antique shops, covered bridges, and more. More about the area …
You’ll love our hospitality as well as our amenities:
